BUYING OPTIONS

Can you buy just the transmitter?

Yes. DJI lists the Mic Mini 2S transmitter separately. It records to its own memory without a receiver.

Transmitter only

Includes a magnetic charging cable, clip, magnet, covers, windscreen, and pouch. No receiver or charging case. Use the cable to charge and copy recordings to a computer. Two separate transmitters can take turns recording, but each needs charging.

Receiver and case kits

A receiver adds camera, phone, or computer audio connections. The 2-transmitter kit adds a spare and a charging case that also exports files. The smaller 1-transmitter mobile kit has a phone receiver and case, but its case cannot export files.

Buying a kit does not extend one transmitter's continuous recording time. The 11-hour test has internal recording off. Canadian transmitter-only listing: out of stock when checked 20 October 2026; regional availability varies. DJI transmitter listing

What you gain

  • Very little weight on your clothing and no cable to manage.
  • Can record onto the transmitter without a phone, camera, or receiver.
  • Supports 32-bit float internal recording; enable this mode in DJI Mimo because it is off by default.

What you work around

  • One transmitter is not established to cover 16 hours of internal recording.
  • The built-in battery cannot be replaced with a fresh AA battery.
  • Changing transmitters creates separate files. DJI advertises loop recording; check overwrite settings and copy recordings off regularly.
